Sorry for the long silence, the work here has been going well. This week was great , brought a Muslim friend of ours to see a baptism. We thought our phone broke but it didn't, so that was great. Knocked on lots of doors, met lots of interesting people. Not many of them were interested in our message, but that's okay they'll just hear it in the next life. Just sending this to let you all know I'm still alive and in Aberdeen.

This week was great. Burns night was great. Haggis wasn't as bad as I expected. I couldn't really understand all their poetry, but that's okay.
I can't believe I've been here in Scotland for about a month now. I still think the cars look funny, but aside from that I'm really liking it here. The work here is going well in Aberdeen, we have a lot of people we're working with. I'm starting to understand them better as well.
We went to Lake Loch Ness last week for P-day so that was really cool. I keep telling myself I need to take more pictures, one day I might. It's hard to think my first transfer is almost over.

This week has been great. We were hoping to have a few of our friends at church on Sunday, but we only had one. I'll take that though. His name is Jordan and he's about my age. I've always heard of people being prepared to hear the gospel, but I've never seen it firsthand like this before. My companion Elder O'Connor and our Zone leaders say they've never met anyone so ready to hear the gospel. He's on date for baptism and can't wait for it. Heck, we can't wait for it.
We went out Chapping (knocking doors) in Enverurie last week and got to meet two families who we're teaching later this week. I'm pretty excited for it. I didn't expect things to be this quick right off the bat. I love the Bridge of Don ward. It's very small, but the members are awesome.
I can understand some people just fine, but others I have no idea what they're saying. Sometimes it seems like they have no idea what I'm saying either. Heavenly Father has one heck of a sense of humour sending me here. I hear in Glascow people have very strong accents, so I can just count my blessings I didn't start out there. I'm still getting used to a lot of things, but I'm beginning to like it here.
Elder O'Connor and I had KFC the other night, it wasn't anything like KFC in the states. They didn't have Ranch, Rootbeer, Mountain Dew, or five dollar fill ups, The coleslaw was different as well. Anyways, I hope next week can go as well as this week did. I promise I'll take some pictures someday.

Dear Brother and Sister Parker,
On 2 January 2019, we welcomed Elder Parker to the Scotland/Ireland Mission. He arrived safely from the Missionary Training Center and we are excited to have him in our mission. I interviewed him and felt his spirit and desire to serve our Heavenly Father. One of our very best missionaries, Elder O'Connor has been assigned to be his trainer. Together they will serve in the Aberdeen Zone, Seaton District and he will attend the Bridge of Don Ward.
I will have the opportunity to meet with Elder Parker for a personal interview every six weeks. In addition, your missionary will be writing me a weekly letter of his activities as well as a personal note. He will also meet regularly with his district and zone leaders where he will be trained with other missionaries. Therefore, with interviews and our weekly letters, I should be able to help him meet any challenges he may have.
We are grateful for the part you have played in preparing your son to serve in this important work. We would encourage you to write him weekly letters of encouragement. Letters from home provide a powerful sustaining effect on the confidence and morale of our missionaries.
